Inspired by the colourful cables once repurposed by Zulu makers in the 1970s, today’s wire has an annealed steel core that provides strength, durability, and ease of weaving. This purpose‑made material ensures consistent quality, rich colour, and long‑lasting performance, allowing artisans to create intricate, contemporary pieces rooted in traditional techniques.
